What this website actually stores

HEART AND DAGGER SOUTHERN LTD built this website to collect as little as possible from visitors. There is no advertising network, no analytics script, no embedded social media widget and no third-party marketing tag on any page.

When you load a page, your browser may place ordinary cache files on your device so the site loads quickly. Those files are managed by your browser and our hosting provider and are not used to build a profile of you.

Local storage, not cookies

The notice at the bottom of every page offers two choices, “Accept All” and “Decline All”. Whichever you press, the site writes a single entry called cookieConsent into your browser’s local storage for this site, with the value all if you accepted and essential if you declined, so your answer is recorded as you gave it.

Local storage is part of your browser’s own storage area. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to us or to anybody else with each page request, and it is not readable by other websites. It stays on your device until you clear it. Its only job is to stop the notice from appearing again every time you open a page.

If the entry is present, the notice is hidden. If it is not present, the notice is shown. That is the entire mechanism. No analytics, advertising or personalisation script reads the stored value.

Essential settings

These are the settings required for the site to operate as designed. They keep the navigation panel, the mobile menu, the expandable question panels and the request forms working, and they remember your answer to the notice above. This is the only category of storage this website uses, and it works whether you press “Accept All” or “Decline All”.

What we do not use

To be explicit about the categories that other sites often apply, HEART AND DAGGER SOUTHERN LTD does not use any of the following on this website:

• Advertising or marketing cookies
• Analytics or audience measurement cookies
• Performance or load-testing cookies
• Personalisation or behavioural advertising cookies
• Third-party embedded content that would set its own storage on our behalf

No consent is being collected for features that do not exist. If HEART AND DAGGER SOUTHERN LTD ever introduces measurement or personalisation tools, this page will be rewritten first and the banner will be updated to describe them accurately.

Service providers involved in running the site

Some technical elements are delivered by external providers, and each of them processes data in the ordinary way any infrastructure provider does. These include the host and content delivery network that serve the pages, the provider of the font and stylesheet assets loaded by the browser, and the server environment that runs the script handling form submissions. None of these providers is given advertising or tracking data by HEART AND DAGGER SOUTHERN LTD, because we do not hold any.

Changing your choice

Data sent when you submit a form

Submitting a request form on this site sends the details you typed to our server so that we can reply to you. That is a separate action from the notice, and it is described in full in the Privacy Policy.
