The problem
A sticking cabinet hinge is a fifteen-minute job. Left alone for two years it strips the screw holes, softens the timber around the fixings and now you need new hinges, new screws, filler and a repaint of the whole door face. The original fault was trivial. The delay was not.
The same pattern shows up with outlets, drawer runners, door frames and ceiling fans. Each one is cheap on its own, expensive as a pattern, and difficult to explain to anyone else living in the house. “It has been like that for a while” tends to become “it is just the house”.

Door hardware
Doors are the part of a home we touch most often and think about least. A door that latches badly gets propped open. A door that swings open by itself gets a hook hung on it. A door with a lever that has come loose gets used carefully by everybody except the person who moves the furniture.
HEART AND DAGGER SOUTHERN LTD adjusts hinges, replaces hardware with the correct backset and screw length for the thickness of your door, and planes the edge where it catches. We fit the hardware you choose and we tell you when the door itself needs a different treatment, because a new lever on a warped door still will not close properly.
Most of this work takes under an hour per door. The point is that it gets done properly, once, rather than becoming a habit of avoidance.

We do touch-ups on the areas we have repaired, and that is included in the quoted scope. Full-room repainting is a different job, and we will say so rather than quietly adding it to the invoice.
Most lists of five to twelve items are finished in a single morning. Larger lists are split over two visits so the crew is not rushing and the quality does not drop towards the end of the day.
